Alain Marc FOY was born on April 25, 1966 in Terre de Haut. He is a marine carpenter, passionate about his job and about safeguarding the heritage represented by the traditional Saintoise.
Following the death of his father, also a carpenter by training, he chose to perpetuate the family business, created in 1978 and opened his own structure in 2010. He puts aside fiberglass nautical constructions which, according to him, are not very respectful of the environment and harmful to health and is oriented towards tradition, specializing in wooden constructions.
Indeed, Alain decided to surf on the craze around traditional sailing, since some sea lovers wanted to bring this practice up to date in the 2000s, by creating two major events, the traditional sails as well as the Tour of Guadeloupe.
Also, in order to take advantage of the popular momentum generated and to introduce the younger generations to this nautical sport, Alain has produced a mini traditional self-draining canoe, approved to European standards.
But Alain is a multi-talented artist just waiting to express himself. He can also build kitchens, personalized bathrooms, fish models, a 9.50 meter sailboat or even trophies of magnets in the shape of torment of love, paint or repair bodywork (cars, private planes , scooters, golf carts, etc.), make billboards, repaint the hulls of boats or carry out the hauling of boats.
Recently and following the Covid 19 pandemic, Alain took on a new challenge by manufacturing aquarium tables and river tables.
Several television programs, channels as well as magazines specializing in the nautical field, have done him the great honor of highlighting his activity and his works such as Thalassa, Echapée Belle, Bleu Outremer, Mare TV, Arte, Voiles et Voiliers, l Nautical stopover…
